Twelve Central Texas first responders and three civilians died in the explosion the evening of April 17, 2013. WACO, Texas (March 29, 2018) - Just before 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Waco Police were searching for a suspect, who had fled from officers, at University Parks Apartments at University Parks Drive and LaSalle Avenue. Baylor University immediately sent a Baylor Alert via text and email and through social media to advise students and others on campus to stay indoors as the search for the suspect continued. The university kept the campus updated with additional Baylor Alerts until Waco Police apprehended the suspect just after 11 p.m. The campus returned to normal activities. No shots were fired. All students are safe and accounted for. The case is being investigated by Waco PD.
