Pat Green to Headline Baylor Backyard Live Concert on Saturday, Sept. 26

Texas country music legend Pat Green, who defines the modern Texas sound with his blend of Red Dirt storytelling, traditional country roots and high-energy rock-infused dancehall anthems, will kick off Baylor University’s Big 12 opener vs. Colorado as the headliner of the Baylor Backyard Live game day concert series on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Green will take the Baylor Backyard Live stage (time TBD depending on kickoff) in the tailgate area at Touchdown Alley outside McLane Stadium. Free for all fans to attend, the Baylor Backyard Live concert series is an energetic element of Baylor Athletics’ Fan First Era that elevates both the atmosphere and Baylor Fan experience surrounding Baylor Football gamedays.

He’s the perfect fit for the tailgating scene as he brings incredible energy and will help make Baylor Backyard Live a memorable part of game day for our fans,” said Jason Cook, Baylor vice president of marketing and communications and chief marketing officer. “We’re excited to welcome Pat to Touchdown Alley at McLane Stadium and look forward to the unforgettable atmosphere he will create for our fans as the Bears open Big 12 play vs. Colorado.”

Throughout the 2026 season, Baylor Backyard Live concerts will typically begin immediately following the Bear Walk, approximately one hour and 45 minutes prior to kickoff, and will run for one hour at each home game. Exact start times for each concert, including Green’s, will be subject to kickoff time.

• Saturday, Sept. 12: Suede (R&B, funk, rock and jazz) – Baylor vs. Prairie View A&M
• Saturday, Sept. 19: Members Only (‘80s cover band )– Baylor vs. Louisiana Tech (Family Weekend)
• Saturday, Sept. 26: Pat Green – Baylor vs. Colorado
• Saturday, Oct. 17: Wynn Williams (neotraditional country) – Baylor vs. TCU
• Saturday, Nov. 7: Graham St. Clair Band (Baylor Alumni, Americana & country) – Baylor vs. Iowa State (Homecoming)
• Saturday, Nov. 21: Sloppy Joe Band (classic rock and roll) – Baylor vs. Texas Tech

About Pat Green

Born in San Antonio and later growing up in Waco, Pat Green has firmly established himself as a Texas legend with his evocative blend of traditional and modern country music. Alongside his creative endeavors, Green continues to tour extensively across the United States, bringing his iconic music to fans old and new.

Beyond his music, Pat Green is a dedicated philanthropist, actively supporting music education and advocating for “underdog” charities through the Pat Green Foundation. His enduring contributions to his community and his ability to resonate with fans through his music have cemented his status as a beloved figure and a true Texas legend.

In addition to Baylor Backyard Live concerts, Howdy at the Hurd will take place the Friday night before the Bears’ Big 12 opener against Colorado at McLane Stadium. All Baylor fans are invited to this FREE concert outside of the Mark and Paula Hurd Welcome Center featuring a national country artist to be announced later this week on Aug. 7. A tradition at Baylor since 1962, Pi Beta Phi's Howdy serves as the “first official Texas welcome to campus” for Baylor students.

• 8-time ACM and 7-time CMA Group of the Year Old Dominion, one of mainstream country music’s most popular live groups, Friday, Sept. 18, at Foster Pavilion, kicking off Family Weekend at Baylor ahead of Saturday’s Baylor vs. Louisiana Tech football game at McLane Stadium;
• Country music’s next big star Braxton Keith, Friday, Oct. 2, at Foster Pavilion; and
• Silobration’s kickoff concert featuring critically acclaimed indie rock/folk band Mt. Joy, Thursday, Oct. 22, at Foster Pavilion, presented by Magnolia with Baylor University.
