Move-In Parking Lot Closures, Traffic Routes

In preparation for Move-In on Wednesday and Thursday, Baylor University will CLOSE some campus parking lots and interior streets beginning 6 PM Tuesday, Aug. 18.
ALL OF CAMPUS will be impacted. Expect delays, detours and disruptions to normal parking/traffic flow.
What you need to know:
- Parking lot closures (listed below) will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, and at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19.
- All cars that have not been moved by 6 p.m. will be towed to the Ferrell Center.
- This includes Departmental vehicles.
- It is the owner’s responsibility to confirm any perceived exemption/exception from towing by contacting parking@baylor.edu.
- Traffic patterns will be changed at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, and 7:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, through 12:45 p.m. on both days.

- Lot 38: Parking in front of North Russell Hall near Dutton Avenue
Closing at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, through 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20
- Lot 9: Lot between Brooks Flats and Kokernot Hall
- Lot 16: Speight Avenue parking between 7th and 8th streets (both sides)
- Lot 24: MP Daniel along Bear Habitat and Bill Daniel Student Center (SUB)
- Lot 33: Hurd Welcome Center service parking lot
- Lot 34: Hurd Welcome Center parking lot
- Lot 39: Front drive of South Russell Hall
Closing at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, through 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20
- Lot 5: 5th Street Bookstore parking lot – timed spots on first floor
- Lot 12: Front parking lot of Collins Hall
- Lot 20: Parking lot behind Martin Hall
- Lot 31: Penland Hall parking lot near Dutton Avenue
- Lot 52: Wiethorn Building and University House
- All street parking on 3rd, 4th and 7th Streets
Move-In Traffic Pattern Changes
Baylor will redirect traffic patterns from 7:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, and Thursday, Aug. 20, to help facilitate the Move-In process. Faculty and staff should plan an alternate route to their destination on both days during the morning hours.
- All traffic on 3rd and 5th Streets will flow one way TOWARD I-35.
- M.P. Daniel will flow from 5th to 8th streets ONLY on both Wednesday and Thursday.
- Head-in parking on M.P. Daniel (next to SUB) is not available during Move-In.
- Those needing access to mailboxes in the SUB are urged to wait until after 1 p.m.
- No left turns from 8th street onto Speight, M.P. Daniel or Baylor Avenue.
- No right turns from Dutton Avenue or the I-35 Frontage Road on 5th, 4th or 3rd streets.
- Traffic exiting from 5th Street parking garage, 5th and 4th streets onto Dutton Avenue must turn right towards University Parks Drive.
- University Parks Drive traffic cannot turn onto Dutton Avenue.
- Dutton Avenue traffic can only go right onto University Parks Drive towards the Ferrell Center.
