Baylor Faculty, Staff and Graduate Student Dining Price Adjustments

July 22, 2025

Baylor University’s administration has regularly monitored the impact of last year’s increase in faculty and staff dining prices – the first in more than 20 years – against affordability priorities for students.

Despite the recent adjustments, which also included the addition of graduate students to those eligible for dining discounts, the institutional subsidy remains financially unsustainable.

As a result, the following price increases will be effective August 1 for Baylor faculty, staff and graduate students.

  • The residence hall door rate for faculty and staff will increase but will still provide a 35% discount on the standard door rate.
    • Breakfast $6.50
    • Lunch $7.50
    • Dinner, Brunch and Late Night $8.50
  • The residence hall rate for graduate students will increase as outlined below – a 43% discount on the standard door rate.
    • Breakfast $5.50
    • Lunch $6.50
    • Dinner, Brunch and Late Night $7.50
  • All menu items, the buffet and salad bar will increase by an average of 21% at the McMullen-Connally Faculty Center.
  • For Chick-fil-A, Panda Express and the Law School Café, the dining discount will be 25% for all bi-weekly employees (non-exempt/paid hourly) with a Baylor Staff ID card.

These price increases better align with University expenses while still providing an exceptional, all-you-care-to-eat value for faculty, staff and graduate students. The dining rates will continue to be evaluated regularly to ensure discounts remain at sustainable rates for the University.
