This article about an important but less understood aspect of learning to read – phonemic awareness – cites Baylor educational psychology research from 2022 that analyzed over 130 studies and found twice the benefits for phonemic awareness when it was taught with letters and not as an oral-only exercise.

National Jurist/PreLaw: Pro bono legal services worth more than $104 million donated by 2023 law class
Baylor Law is among 83 law schools that reported contributing pro bono legal services as part of their legal education, noted by an Association of American Law Schools survey measuring how much law schools contribute to the delivery of much-needed legal services through clinics, other experiential courses and pro bono activities of law students. VIDEO: Dave Morehead and Renee Hanna in Baylor’s Office of Investments are guests on CNBC’s Halftime Report during which they discussed how Baylor’s annualized endowment return of 10.9% over the past five years outperformed all Ivy League colleges except for Brown. The key to Baylor’s endowment success, Morehead said, is taking advantage of dislocations in the market.

Dr. Weaver is an expert on human memory at Baylor and often takes the stand to explain that the memories of eyewitnesses are fallible. He’s usually the only academic scientist testifying.
