WACO, Texas (Sept. 14, 2022) – A record number of nearly 150 employers from across the country will be on the Baylor University campus for Career Day to recruit students for internships and full-time positions post-graduation from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation.

The event is at full capacity in all areas of for-profit, non-profit and government employers. With fall the primary recruiting season for many employers, Career Day Fall 2022 provides a prime opportunity for students to network with recruiters, research internships and job opportunities and follow their calling.

"We have the most diverse group of employers ever that are looking to talk with students from every major," said Amy Rylander, director at the Career Center.

The Career Center staff works year-round to research employers and develop relationships with companies that align with Baylor students’ skills and their desired career paths. These efforts provide more internship and full-time position opportunities for students across campus from all majors and areas of study. Industries represented include media, sports management, film, healthcare and technology.

The increase in the number and variety of employer representation at Career Day also is a result of the quality and preparedness of Baylor students and graduates, who bring the latest in technology, efficiencies, product development and marketing ideas from the classroom to the boardroom.

"Recruiters attending the event are truly interested in hiring Baylor talent for those positions, so students should have a résumé prepared, have a well-rehearsed elevator pitch, create a list of employers they want to see and dress for success," Rylander said.

In addition to companies coming from around the country, a dedicated area of the career fair layout will host employers from Waco and the surrounding area.

"Over half of Baylor students say they would like to stay in the Waco area after graduation," said Patti Hueston, Waco employer relations specialist for the Career Center. "It's important for them to connect with local employers to identify opportunities that match their career goals."

Students who register before the event will be able to research the participating employers and also be searchable themselves by employers.

For students seeking assistance, the Career Center will host a prep session for arts, science, education and Robbins College students at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, in Marrs McLean Science room 101.
