Waco Tribune-Herald: Statues at Baylor to depict first Black graduates, who fought racism on different fronts

Life-size statues of Robert Gilbert and Barbara Walker, Baylor's first two Black graduates, will soon be added in front of the newly renovated Tidwell Bible Building. The idea came from the University's Commission on Historic Campus Representations, a body that spent six months evaluating statues, memorials and displays throughout the campus and coming up with ways to better represent Baylor's full racial history.
