WACO, Texas (Jan. 24, 2020) — This coming week, Baylor University will host lectures in music, art and religion along with various film screenings and a concert by Baylor Opera Theater Guild. Baylor also will present the KUMILAN Ensemble, the E.K. Bailey Memorial Preaching Event and 2020 Largent Lecture.

MONDAY, Jan. 27, 2020

Chapel Highlights – Chapel will present Angela Gorrell, Ph.D., assistant professor of practical theology at Baylor’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary, at 9:05, 10:10 and 11:15 a.m. in Waco Hall, 624 Speight Ave. For more information, visit the Spiritual Life website.

E.K. Bailey Memorial Preaching Event – George W. Truett Theological Seminary will host its 15th annual E.K. Bailey Memorial Preaching Event featuring guest speaker Rev. James P. Thompson Jr., Ph.D., pastor of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Arlington. The event will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Paul Powell Chapel in Truett Seminary, 1100 S. Movie Mondays at the Hippodrome – Movie Mondays presented by Baylor’s Union Board will continue this week with a showing of “Free Burma Rangers,” an adventure documentary exploring the journey of Dave Eubank, a former U.S. Special Forces soldier turned missionary. The screening and producer Q&A will be at 7 p.m. at the Waco Hippodrome, 724 Austin Ave. Tickets are free and can be picked up at the Waco Hippodrome Box Office, the Bill Daniel Student Center ticket office or online.

Lyceum Series – The Baylor University School of Music will present its annual Lyceum Series lecture featuring Benjamin Korstvedt, Ph.D., professor of music at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, from 4-5:30 p.m. in Cox Lecture Hall in Armstrong Browning Library, 710 Speight Ave. The lecture is free and open to the public. E.K. Bailey Memorial Preaching Event – George W. Truett Theological Seminary will the host its 15th annual E.K. Bailey Memorial Preaching Event featuring guest speaker Rev. James P.
