Army-Baylor MHA-MBA Program Teams Excel at Competitions

WACO, Texas (May 5, 2017) – The Army-Baylor graduate program in health and business administration sent teams to multiple competitions where they won several awards, overall and individually.
"We saw an unprecedented string of honors and recognition for the Army-Baylor MHA-MBA Program in March and April," said Lt. Col. Forest Kim, Ph.D., program director for Army-Baylor Graduate Program in health and business administration. "Our students and faculty were recognized nationally by the American College of Healthcare Executives and at both international and national case competitions. We are proud to be a part of the Baylor family and hope to continue to represent both the Army and Baylor well."
2017 ACHE Congress on Healthcare Leadership
The Army-Baylor MHA-MBA Program received national recognition at the 2017 ACHE Congress on Healthcare Leadership when it received the 2016 Higher Education Network Award for highest engagement of a graduate program with ACHE. Along with this, the team took second place in the graduate division of the Richard J. Stull Student Essay Competition.
Kim received an Army Regent Award for Career Achievement. Col. Tanya Peacock was awarded the Joint Federal Sector Excellence in Healthcare Leadership Award for O-6 and above, and Lt. Col. Jason Richter received the same award, but for O-5 and above.
Clarion National Case Competition
Students from the Army-Baylor MHA-MBA program won second place at the Clarion National Case Competition, improving over their previous third place finish in 2016.
Free Trade Alliance San Antonio International Business Plan Competition
Two student teams from the MHA-MBA program, Team Hoppy Hens and Team E.C.O., competed in the Free Trade Alliance San Antonio International Business Plan Competition. Team Hoppy Hens won first place in the graduate division and Team E.C.O. was commended on having one of the top three presentation scores.
