Hankamer Faculty Members Receive Awards

Dr. Mark A. Serva, assistant professor of information systems, was named Most Popular Business Professor at the recent Hankamer School of Business annual awards banquet. The award is presented by Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity following a vote by the student body.
A member of the Baylor faculty since 1995, Serva received a bachelor of science degree from Mansfield University, a master of business administration degree from Syracuse University, and a doctorate from the University of Texas.
Other faculty members honored during the program include Dr. Donald R. Edwards, professor and chair of management, who received the Hankamer Distinguished Professor Award; Karen Young, lecturer in information systems, and James E. Busby, lecturer in finance, who received Teaching Excellence Awards; and Dr. Kendall W. Artz, assistant professor of management, who received the Hankamer Young Researcher Award.
Lonnie F. Olander, manager of network services at the Casey Computer Center, received the 1999 Outstanding Staff Award. More than 20 student awards also were presented.
Keynote speaker at the banquet was Dale P. Jones, retired vice chairman of Halliburton Company, Dallas, and a member of the Baylor Board of Regents.
