Minority Students to Visit Baylor for Quest Program
WACO, Texas - Minority high school seniors from across the state will visit the Baylor University campus on Saturday, Jan. 18, for the Quest program.
Sponsored by the Office of Recruitment and Parents League, the program allows minority students and their families an opportunity to see the campus, talk with Baylor faculty, staff, and current students and ask questions about the university. The program will be held in the Bill Daniel Student Center.
Approximately 60 percent of students attending the 1996 Quest program enroll in the university, said Tania Mitchell, African-American liaison officer at Baylor and Quest coordinator.
"This is the best opportunity for students to see what Baylor has to offer them," Mitchell said.
The program will begin at 9:30 a.m. with registration, followed by a continental breakfast and welcome to the campus. During the welcome period, the Heavenly Voices, the gospel choir of Baylor, will perform. At 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., a panel discussion and academic session will be held respectively. Dr. Charles S. Madden, vice president for university marketing at Baylor, also will speak during the program.
After lunch, students will be able to tour the campus and ask questions about campus life at the university during a breakout session. The program will end at 4 p.m.
