Walter Elected to National Office
Dr. Janelle Walter, associate professor of Family and Consumer Sciences at Baylor University, was recently named chair-elect of the National Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society Board of Directors.
"Kappa Omicron Nu is devoted to recognizing undergraduate and graduate scholars and encouraging them to grow professionally," said Walter.
She has already attended a Board of Directors training conference, where the goals of the society for the upcoming year were discussed. According to Walter, Kappa Omicron Nu's main goal is to encourage scholarship and improvement on the local level.
The mission of the organization is to develop leaders in Family and Consumer Sciences, and to enhance the ability of the organization and chapters to prepare scholars and researchers as leaders for the 21st century.
In her role, Walter will represent 120 campus chapters throughout the United States and more than 100,000 members worldwide. Walter also serves as Kappa Gamma Theta Chapter adviser at Baylor.
