South African Professor to Speak at Chapel-Forum Feb. 21
Dr. G. C. Oosthuizen, professor of the science of religion at the University of Zululand in KwaZulu, Natal, and director of NEREMIC, an organization studying indigenous Christianity and new religions in South Africa, will speak during Baylor University's Chapel-Forum at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, in Waco Hall.
In addition to Chapel-Forum, Oosthuizen will also lecture on "World Religions" at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the W.R. Poage Legislative Library Center.
Oosthuizen, considered a world authority in religious matters and new religions in Africa, was awarded a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Zululand in December of 1995 alongside South African President Nelson Mandella and Vice President F.W. DeKlerk.
