School of Education Named Editor and Publisher of Journal
Baylor University School of Education was chosen to edit and publish Teacher Education and Practice, the official publication of the Texas Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (TACTE).
Dr. Charles D. Schmitz, dean of the School of Education, is the new editor of the journal. Associate editors include Betty Conaway, K. Fred Curtis, Susan Johnsen, Gail Ryser and C. Ann Terry.
The goal of Teacher Education and Practice is to disseminate research and scholarship related to professional education preparation programs and learning in the school setting.
TACTE consists of 68 institutions of teacher education across the state of Texas. The first issue of the journal dealt with behavior and classroom management. Future journal themes include teacher education reform, teaching and the scholarship of discovery, cultural pluralism, and challenges and promises.
