China Spring 5th Graders to Visit Baylor Pen Pals Dec. 6
Approximately 20 fifth-grade students from China Spring Elementary will meet their Baylor University pen pals at noon Wednesday, Dec. 6, in the Meeting Hall at the Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village.
Students from Baylor's School of Education have been writing to the fifth graders throughout the semester to encourage letter writing and writing, in general.
"Anything we can do to help students better communicate, we want to try," said Dr. Anita Baker, associate professor of curriculum and instruction. "This is the first year we have tried this, and we look forward to meeting our pen pals from China Spring."
The children will meet their Baylor pen pals, talk about the benefits of writing and receive a historical tour of the village.
