Baylor's Aviation Fuels Center Gets Its Own Web Page
WACO, Texas -The Renewable Aviation Fuels Development Center (RAFDC) at Baylor University now has an on-ramp to the "information super-highway." With help from the Baylor Center for Computing and Information Service, RAFDC has its very own home-page accessible through the Internet's Worldwide Web.
Any of the millions of people worldwide who have an Internet Account can now view information on RAFDC's program to develop renewable fuels for aviation. Included on the home page is material about renewable fuels such as ethanol, biodiesel, and ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE) as well as electronic versions of a number of academic papers that have been published by RAFDC in the past. There is also information available about RAFDC personnel, history and research grants, as well as links to other home-pages that have information on aviation and renewable energy related topics.
According to Dr. Max Shauck, chairman of Baylor's Department of Aviation Sciences and director of RAFDC, "One of our most important missions is to educate the public about the benefits of renewable fuels. Through this home-page we hope to be able to reach that small but influential segment of the population which is the first to adopt new technologies like the Internet or renewable fuels. We also hope that it will help us to get the attention of the kind of top-notch students Baylor and the Aviation Sciences department is interested in attracting."
