The Price Waterhouse Foundation has awarded a $28,000 grant to the Accounting and Business Law Department at Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business.
The grant, announced recently by Mark Day, partner with the Houston office of Price Waterhouse, is being used to fund partial release time from teaching duties during the summer of 1995 and fall of 1996 for two faculty members, Dr. Charles E. Davis, assistant professor of accounting, and Dr. Michael J. Gulig, associate professor in business law.
The two professors have charge of designing the information systems and taxation components of the Integrated Accounting Core Curriculum, which the department will begin in the spring of 1996.
Day described the new curriculum as being at the "cutting edge" of accounting education. He pointed out to Baylor students, "This integrated approach to learning accounting should improve your ability to handle new and unfamiliar areas and should also provide a forum in which you will improve your interpersonal skills."
