UPCOMING BAYLOR CONCERTS

Old Dominion, one of mainstream country music’s most popular live groups, is headed to Baylor University’s Foster Pavilion for an electrifying show on Friday, Sept. 18, at 7:30 p.m., continuing the wave of momentum for A-list entertainment set for this fall – and beyond – at Waco’s new premier concert venue.

The concert by the 8-time ACM and 7-time CMA “Group of the Year” is just one of the highlights of Baylor’s Family Weekend Sept. 18-19, which includes new and exciting events for parents, as well as traditional favorites such as Taste of Waco, After Dark and Saturday’s Baylor-Louisiana Tech football game.

Last year’s Family Weekend featured a sold-out concert by two-time GRAMMY winner Lauren Daigle, and Old Dominion is poised to do the same as they sell out arena and stadium shows across the globe on their massively popular How Good Is That - World Tour.

“Old Dominion is one of those bands that takes you to another time and place and always creates a good time,” said Jason Cook, vice president for marketing and communications and Baylor’s chief marketing officer. “They have a loyal following across the country as evidenced by an impressive awards list – they are one of the most popular country pop groups of all-time. We continue to be blessed by the A-list, national artists who are coming to Waco and Foster Pavilion to enrich our local community and bring the Baylor Family together.”

The complete agenda of Baylor’s Family Weekend activities for 2026 will be released in the weeks ahead at baylor.edu/familyweekend. New to this year will be an “open house” on Friday morning, Sept. 18, of local coffee houses, restaurants and other unique businesses across Downtown Waco. Special discounts and products will be available for Family Weekend attendees that morning only.

While part of Baylor’s Family Weekend activities, the Old Dominion concert at Foster Pavilion is open to anyone.

ABOUT OLD DOMINION

Old Dominion’s skyscraping anthems and electrifying live shows have put the multi-platinum-selling band prominently at the forefront of country music. Fusing clever lyrics and an infectious sound, their lyrical wit and hook-heavy songwriting has certainly proved to be a winning formula for Nashville’s hottest band. It’s no wonder Rolling Stone cited Old Dominion as “one of mainstream country music’s most popular live groups.” Since breaking onto the music scene, the band has notched nine No. 1 singles at country radio, surpassed six billion on-demand streams and earned over a dozen RIAA Platinum and Gold single certifications. In addition to their massive radio and streaming successes, fan demand for Old Dominion’s live shows is evident week after week as the band headlines sold-out arenas, stadiums and amphitheaters around the globe.

Over the course of their career, Old Dominion has received numerous awards, accolades and nominations from the GRAMMYs, CMAs, CMT, American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards and iHeart Radio. The band took home their seventh successive win for “Vocal Group of the Year” at the 2024 CMA Awards – the longest streak in CMA history – and won their historic eighth consecutive “Group of the Year” win at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards, breaking the records for both all-time and most consecutive wins in the category.

Most recently, they were recognized at Save The Music’s annual Hometown To Hometown gala for their longtime commitment to music education. That same day, Old Dominion received their star on the Nashville Walk of Fame, where they were inducted by legendary songwriter Vince Gill.

Additional honors include ACM “New Group of the Year,” ACCA “Breakthrough Group of the Year,” AIMP “Songwriter Artist of the Year” and Music Row “Group/Duo of the Year” and “Breakthrough Artist of the Year.” In 2021, Old Dominion received two GRAMMY nominations for their song “Some People Do,” including “Best Country Song” and “Best Country Duo/Group Performance.” At the 2020 CMT Awards, the band took home their first win for “Group Video of The Year.” Frontman Matthew Ramsey was named ASCAP’s “Artist of the Year” in 2017.

“Matthew Ramsey is one of the greatest ‘frontmen’ in music today, and he knows how to rev up a crowd. His fellow bandmembers are incredible musicians in their own right, who in addition to their work as part of Old Dominion, have written songs for Kenny Chesney, Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini, Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan.” - Jason Cook

Old Dominion’s 2021 album, “Time, Tequila & Therapy,” was notably nominated for “Album of the Year” at the 2022 CMA Awards and was named one of the “25 Best Country and Americana Albums of 2021” by Rolling Stone. The album features the Platinum-selling single “I Was On A Boat That Day,” which was also named one of the “100 Best Songs of 2021” by Billboard.

Old Dominion followed up with their 2023 album “Memory Lane,” which featured the history-making title track that became the No. 1 Most Added Song at Country Radio for the first two consecutive add weeks of the new calendar year, a feat which no other artist has accomplished since 2010. “Memory Lane” became their record-breaking ninth No. 1 single at Country Radio, achieving the most spins in a week by any duo or group.

In September 2024, the band debuted a greatest-hits compilation Odies but Goodies. The 31-track collection spans the band’s journey from lark to meaningful headliner in a way that pays tribute to what the fans ask for. The band’s highly anticipated sixth studio album Barbara was released on August 22, 2025, and their How Good Is That - World Tour has seen them trek across the globe with sold-out stadium and arena performances.
