More than 5,500 prospective students and their families are headed to Waco and Baylor University for Fall Baylor Premiere, an all-day open house on Saturday, Oct. 24, where students and their families can explore Baylor’s award-winning campus, experience college life firsthand and interact with outstanding Baylor faculty and staff members from across campus.
“Premiere is a special opportunity for prospective students and their families to experience Baylor beyond what they can learn from a website or a traditional campus visit,” said Ross VanDyke, associate vice president of Enrollment Management Recruiting, Marketing and Innovation. “They get to experience our community firsthand, connect with the people who make Baylor special and begin to envision what it means to be part of the Baylor Family.”
Throughout the day, attendees can engage with representatives from Baylor’s academic schools and colleges across all disciplines. Come-and-go departmental socials provide opportunities to meet with numerous organizations, including Fraternity and Sorority Life, Multicultural Affairs, Student Life, the Career Center and more, while gaining insight into Baylor's vibrant community and Christ-centered educational experience. Guests also will enjoy a complimentary meal in one of the University’s residential dining halls or from one of several of Waco’s most popular food trucks.
Interactive campus tours led by current student tour guides offer an inside look at life as a Baylor Bear, while residence hall tours help prospective students envision their future home on campus.
“There’s a moment when the excitement of a campus visit turns into a genuine sense of possibility about their future, and they see more than just what Baylor offers; they see what it feels like to belong here.” - Ross VanDyke, associate vice president of Enrollment Management Recruiting, Marketing and Innovation.
“My favorite part of Premiere is watching prospective students begin to see themselves as Bears,” VanDyke said. “There’s a moment when the excitement of a campus visit turns into a genuine sense of possibility about their future, and they see more than just what Baylor offers; they see what it feels like to belong here.”
Beyond the excitement of Premiere, visiting families can enjoy a full weekend in Waco by attending Magnolia’s popular Silobration, hosted by Magnolia founders and Baylor alumni Chip and Joanna Gaines of “Fixer Upper” fame, and exploring the many attractions, restaurants and activities making Waco an exciting destination.
