Held each October, Campus Sustainability Month is an international celebration of sustainability efforts in higher education. This year, Baylor University and the Baylor Office of Sustainability are “Inspiring Hope” to shine a light on the campus and community partners who continue to advance Baylor’s and Waco’s growth in the field of sustainability through events such as service projects, workshops and community activities.
Recognizing Campus Sustainability Month reflects Baylor's commitment to building a stronger community as stewards of God’s creation through collaborative efforts rooted in the University’s Christian mission.
“Campus Sustainability Month is an important way to engage students in sustainability and fulfill Baylor’s goal to build a campus culture where sustainable living is celebrated and contributes to the daily intellectual, spiritual and emotional well-being for all members of the Baylor family,” said Gary Cocke, senior director of sustainability at Baylor.
Scheduled events include a celebration of student sustainability leadership, events with local community partners and opportunities to learn about practices like community gardening, sustainable food management, the free Baylor Farmer’s Market and more.
Additionally, Environmental Humanities faculty will host the Green Film Festival, which will feature three short films along with a Q&A with one of the filmmakers.
Event information with dates and times is available on the Campus Sustainability Month 2025 website.
