Baylor University officially launched its new institutional television commercial for 2024-2025, which showcases the authentic Baylor experience and supports one of the University’s fastest-rising graduates in the entertainment industry.
The :30 commercial features dynamic shots depicting the tremendous beauty of the Baylor campus and the vibrancy and joy of the Baylor student experience. Enhanced by the soundtrack of Waco-based Christian recording artist, songwriter and producer, Forrest Frank, B.B.A. ‘17, whose original song “Never Get Used to This,” featuring JVKE, lets the University stake its claim as the “vibiest” institutional commercial hitting airwaves this fall.
“Music is one of the strongest connection points to experiences and to one another in today’s culture, particularly with younger audiences,” said Jason Cook, vice president for marketing and communications and chief marketing officer at Baylor. “Collaborating with Forrest Frank, a Baylor alum who has quickly become one of the top Christian artists in the world, allowed us to showcase the University in a new, relevant way. We believe Forrest’s authentic and approachable Christian faith and extraordinary talent will resonate deeply with Generation Z, who live in the intersection of brands, music, entertainment and experiences. This approach continues to place Baylor on the leading edge of brand innovation and builds awareness and interest in Baylor University among prospective students and families.”
Vibrant and authentic
The commercial will make its TV debut at halftime in Baylor football’s season opener against Tarleton State at McLane Stadium in Waco on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 6 p.m. and as part of the ESPN+ broadcast of the game. During college football broadcasts, universities are in constant competition with major corporate brands and each other, all vying for attention during commercial breaks. Focusing on the vibrant and authentic Baylor student experience set to an energetic and popular music track helps the University stand out from other brands and university commercials.
With faith-forward lyrics that include “See Your blessings every day, Thankful that Your kingdom's on the way,” and “From the mornin' to the evenin' I could sing Your praise all day,” Frank provides personal testimony to the University’s deeply impactful student experience grounded in its Christian mission – to prepare Baylor graduates to lead and serve around the world. Scenes from some of Baylor’s most iconic traditions – running the Baylor Line, gathering in worship as a community, cheering on championship-level athletics teams and, of course, the University’s beloved American black bears, Indy and Belle – give viewers a realistic view of what it means and looks like to be a part of the Baylor Family.
"Never Get Used to This"
“We continue to approach our broadcast inventory with an eye toward broadening and deepening what people know about Baylor. In the very real battle for great students, showing them what life at Baylor looks like and illustrating the success of a recent graduate in Forrest Frank was the exact right combination this year,” Cook said. “‘Never Get Used to This’ captures the essence of life at Baylor – a place where you can find and pursue your calling while being spiritually formed and encouraged to live out your faith in an authentic and unapologetic way.”
Amid a perpetually sold-out national tour promoting the August release of his debut Christian album “Child of God,” Frank’s rise to international fame has been unprecedented. Previously touring and performing as a member of the viral hit-producing duo, Surfaces, Frank followed his calling to produce a Christian album that would resonate with and inspire young people to know the love of Christ. “Child of God” hit the top of the album charts – not just for Christian music – but in the No. 1 spot on iTunes across all genres within days of its release.
Bucking conventional wisdom that recording success would only come in hubs like Los Angeles, New York or Nashville, Frank and his wife, Grace, B.A. ’19, chose to lay down roots in Waco, underlying his commitment to serving and supporting his local community and the Baylor Family.
Song Lyrics for Forrest Frank and JVKE’s “Never Get Used to This”
Verse
I was stuck inside that grave a long time (long time)
Didn't think I'd make it through those long nights (long nights)

Remember when You got me out that? You got me out that (oh-oh)

And now I see Your blessings, see Your blessings every day
Thankful that Your kingdom's on the way
Angels all around me, hear them sing like, "Oh"
Chorus
I'll never get used to this (oh-oh)
I'll never get used to this (oh-oh)
This is how I want to live (oh-oh)
Forever we'll be singing like, "Oh" (oh-oh)
Verse
Walk up out the grave, yeah, I'm alive now
Told the Devil, "Boy, you out of time now" (whoa)
His spirit won't leave me, I'm on fire now
I know it won't ever die out, won't ever die out (oh-oh)
Pre-chorus
And now I see Your blessings, see Your blessings every day
Thankful that Your kingdom's on the way
Angels all around me, hear 'em sing like, "Oh"

I'll never get used to this (oh-oh)
This is how I want to live (oh-oh)
Forever we'll be singing like, "Oh" (oh-oh)

From the mornin' to the evenin'
I could sing Your praise all day
From the prison to the garden
You're the God who's breakin' chains

There's a silver lining of grace
I can't wait to thank You, Jesus, oh
