European Academy of Sciences Elects Fritz Gesztesy, Ph.D., as Fellow

Fritz Gesztesy, Ph.D., The Ralph and Jean Storm Professor of Mathematics at Baylor University, has been elected as a Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences (EurASc), a prestigious recognition that reflects Gesztesy’s outstanding contributions to the field of mathematics and his dedication to academic excellence. As a Fellow, he joins a global network of leading scientists and researchers committed to advancing scientific progress and collaboration.
“I’m very grateful to the European Academy of Sciences for this honor; it is gratifying to see one’s efforts being recognized by your peers,” said Gesztesy, who joined the Baylor faculty in 2016 from the University of Missouri, Columbia, where he taught for 28 years.
At Baylor, Gesztesy’s research centers around applications of operator and spectral theory to a variety of problems connected to mathematical physics. More specifically, his areas of interest include Mathematical Physics, Spectral Theory, Operator Theory, Differential Equations and Completely Integrable Systems. Already a Fellow of the inaugural 2013 class of the American Mathematical Society, Gesztesy’s election to the European Academy of Sciences indicates the significant impact his research has had on both theoretical advancements and applications in mathematical physics.
