VIDEO: Laura Upenieks, Ph.D., assistant professor of sociology at Baylor, is interviewed about her latest research that found that young people who play sports experience lower levels of depression and anxiety. Playing sports in childhood builds good exercise habits, teamwork, self-esteem, confidence, which can be carried over into other areas of life, she said.
