Baylor University Waco Campus Extends Remote Instruction, Telework through Noon Thursday, Feb. 2
From the National Weather Service, Fort Worth/Dallas: Travel conditions will continue to be hazardous into Wednesday night and Thursday with more sleet and freezing rain expected. Temperatures will slowly climb above freezing in Central Texas Wednesday night and Thursday morning across most of North Texas allowing for melting of ice. However, slushy roads will persist well after temperatures get above freezing.
WACO, Texas (Feb. 1, 2023) - The National Weather Service has extended its Winter Storm Warning through 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, for the Central Texas area. Baylor University-Waco campus will extend holding classes via remote instruction and staff teleworking through noon Thursday. Normal university operations will resume at that time. Classes beginning at 12:30 p.m. Thursday will be held in person.
NURSING SCHOOL IN DALLAS
For Dallas nursing campus, please watch your email for instructions from Dean Plank.
DINING AND FOOD
Penland and East Village residential dining halls will be open Thursday for breakfast. All residential dining locations resume normal hours at lunch.
Common Grounds and the food court at the SUB will open at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Starbucks at Moody Memorial Library will open at 8 a.m. Thursday.
Other retail locations will open at lunch.
LIBRARIES
Baylor Libraries Moody and Jones remain open. Special libraries will open at noon Thursday.
MCLANE STUDENT LIFE CENTER/BAYLOR HEALTH CENTER/FLU SHOT CLINIC
The McLane SLC will reopen at noon Thursday. The Baylor Health Center also will reopen at noon Thursday.
The Health Center has rescheduled its mobile flu shot clinic on Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the CUB area on the first floor of the SUB.
TELEHEALTH/COUNSELING
If students are in need of healthcare or counseling, 24/7 access is available for on-demand urgent care and counseling services through Baylor Telehealth by AcademicLiveCare.
BUS SERVICE
Regular BUS Routes (Green, Gold, Blue, Red, Silver) will resume at 11 a.m. Thursday.
The After Hours Connection Route will operate today only until 7:30 p.m. for Baylor Cityside and University Parks Apartments only. It will resume regular hours and routes at 5: 30 p.m. Thursday.

PARKING GARAGES
Parking garages are open. However, due to icy conditions, Baylor Parking & Transportation Services may keep the top levels of the garages closed.
ACCESS TO BUILDINGS
Doors to University buildings will be card swipe access only until Thursday at 11 a.m.
BOOKSTORE, MAIL SERVICES, COPY CENTER
The Baylor Bookstore will reopen at 11 a.m. Thursday.
The Mail Center in the SUB will open at 10 a.m. Thursday. University mail routes will resume in the afternoon.
The Copy Center will reopen at noon Thursday.
