HOUSTON (March 27, 2022) – The “best hour of the week” – Baylor University’s Dr Pepper Hour – is making a series of local stops at Houston-area campuses as part of an eight-week tour of Texas and Colorado.

The Dr Pepper Hour Tour will set up on Monday, March 28, at Katy’s Seven Lakes High School; Tuesday, March 29, at Kingwood High School; Wednesday, March 30, at Cypress’ Cy-Fair High School; Thursday, March 31, at Katy’s Tompkins High School; Monday, April 4, at Woodlands Christian Academy; and Tuesday, April 5, at Sugar Land’s Fort Bend Christian Academy.

Dr Pepper Hour – a tradition of Baylor University since 1953 – is continuing a statewide high school tour to deliver the sweet experience of Dr Pepper floats alongside the excitement of being a part of the Baylor Family.

“We wanted to extend the Baylor campus experience across the state and beyond by sharing this legendary Baylor treat with prospective students,” explains Jason Cook, Baylor’s vice president for marketing and communications and chief marketing officer. “It’s such a unique tradition; where else do students enjoy free ice cream with their friends every week of their college experience?”

Dr Pepper Hour is held on the Baylor campus every Tuesday from 3 to 4 p.m. with free Dr Pepper floats for students.

A custom Baylor and Dr Pepper-branded truck and trailer will spend the eight-week tour from March to May by stopping at select high schools in Waco, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Tyler, Longview and Midland. The tour concludes in Colorado, with stops planned in and around the Denver area.

The trailer will set up shop, creating a Baylor experience, including tents and Baylor signage, Baylor Admissions counselors and Dr Pepper float kits for the first 300 students. Each student will be provided a Baylor-branded cup, ice cream and a can of Dr Pepper to help recreate one of the University’s most beloved on-campus traditions. Additional Baylor merchandise and giveaways will be available.
