WACO, Texas (Nov. 30, 2021) – The John F. Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise  in Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business has announced the winners of the first annual 2021 Baylor Impact Awards.

The Impact Awards were created to recognize successful Baylor alumni-owned or alumni-led businesses and Texas family-owned businesses. Each year, awards are given out in recognition of businesses that have made transformational impacts on the community, industry and company.

All awards are exclusively for Baylor graduates, except for the Texas Family Business of the Year Award. The Texas Family Business of the Year Award honors multi-generational, family-owned businesses committed to family and business continuity.

“All companies were evaluated on business success and community and industry involvement. Each company was also evaluated based on the award category that they were applying for,” said Priscilla James, program manager of the Baugh Center.

All the awards acknowledge various aspects of successful businesses that align with Baylor University’s mission. There are eight categories. The Texas Family Business of the Year Award has three subcategories that acknowledge small, medium and large businesses.

Notable awards include the Diversity Award and the Great Commission Award. The Diversity Award recognizes businesses owned or led by Baylor alumni that strive for diversity and inclusivity, while the Great Commission Award recognizes companies with unambiguous Christian values.

The Baylor Impact Award winners are:

  • Dean’s List Award: Capital Factory
  • Waco’s Finest Award: Green Eye Associates
  • Diversity Award: MannaQure
  • Great Commission Award: Encouragement Media Group
  • Community Commitment Award: Superior Shot Peening & Coatings International

  • Texas Family Business of the Year Award, Small Business: OK Pipe & Fittings
  • Texas Family Business of the Year Award, Medium Business: Black Plumbing
  • Texas Family Business of the Year Award, Large Business: TFP Nutrition

These companies stood out from the 25 finalists.

“They have such riveting stories about their families, overcoming hardships and making a difference among underserved communities,” James said of the businesses. “It’s important to recognize companies who are not only successful but are also difference makers, proudly representing Baylor in a variety of ways.”
