National Distinguished Principal to Speak April 10
WACO, Texas - Sara Eggleston, the National Distinguished Principal for 1995 and principal of the Pattison Elementary School in the Katy Independent School District, will speak at the Baylor University Leadership Luncheon scheduled from noon-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, in the Barfield Drawing Room of the Bill Daniel Student Center.
Eggleston will talk about "Where the Rubber Meets the Road: Leadership Challenges for Principals Who Want to Make a Difference."
Eggleston has been in school administration and teaching for 27 years. She was the assistant principal and principal at Memorial Parkway Elementary in Katy ISD for 10 years before opening Hazel S. Pattison Elementary in 1989 with 674 students.
Pattison Elementary has grown to more than 1,000 students. During the 1993-94 school year, Pattison won the National Award for Excellence. Eggleston was named the Educational Alumnus of the year for 1994-95 by Abilene Christian University; and, in February 1995, she was appointed to the Senate Advisory Committee on Education.
The luncheon, which is open to the public, is sponsored by Baylor's Department of Educational Administration and the Fred and Edith Hale Center for Educational Leaders.
