Baylor Enrollment Totals 12,202 for Fall Semester
WACO, Texas - A total of 12,202 students are currently enrolled at Baylor University for the fall semester, a figure slightly lower than the 1994 total, according to figures compiled by the Office of the Registrar.
Baylor's current enrollment is 38 students less than the fall 1994 enrollment of 12,240. The figures are the official 12th-day enrollment statistics.
Included in the 1995 totals are 12,034 students on the Waco campus (10,323 undergraduate and 1,241 graduate students). Also included are 394 students in the School of Law.
At the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, 44 students are enrolled and 124 students attend the U.S. Army Academy of Health Sciences in San Antonio, where Baylor has an affiliated degree program.
Students from all 50 states and 60 foreign countries are currently enrolled at Baylor.
"The Board of Regents voted several years ago to keep our enrollment at an approximate 12,000-student level," said Dr. William D. Hillis, vice president for student life and the Cornelia Marschall Smith Professor of Biology.
"We might have moderate increases, but I just don't see us straying too far from the 12,000 figure. We are trying hard to keep our enrollment at that level," he said.
