Baylor President Linda A. Livingstone, Ph.D., will initiate the countdown that will culminate in the lighting of 92 newly installed LED lights on the upper level of the library. The new lights replace original fixtures that haven’t glowed for decades.

WACO, Texas (Oct. 11, 2017) – Baylor University will officially inaugurate Linda A. Livingstone, Ph.D., as the 15th president in Baylor’s 172-year history during a public installation ceremony at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, in the Ferrell Center. Dr. Livingstone’s Inauguration will highlight a week of events, including a traditional Dr Pepper Hour, a “Family Dinner” for students along Third Street near the president’s home and academic symposia on transformational research by leading University faculty.

Waco, Texas (Oct.10, 2017) – Award-winning author Tony Castro, B.B.A.’70, will present his lecture, “The Religion of Sports: From Michelangelo to Derek Jeter,” at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Kayser Auditorium in the Hankamer Academic Center on the Baylor University campus.

WACO, Texas (Oct. 10, 2017) — The Mayborn Museum Complex is celebrating the 20th annual Earth Science Week in collaboration with Baylor University’s department of geosciences, through Oct. 13, 2017. The museum is hosting daily activities where visitors have the opportunity to engage with Baylor geosciences professors while exploring resources and activities related to a specific focus within earth sciences.

WACO, Texas (Oct. 6, 2017) — The McGee Endowed Lecture Series at Baylor University is a three-part lecture series designed to initiate conversation about the relationship between Christianity and democracy and how Christians are to think about participating in political life. This year, it will be held in conjunction with Seventh and James Baptist Church’s Leuschner Lecture Series and the Honors Residential College’s Formation Series Lecture. Series Lecture. All three parts of the lecture series will feature Luke Bretherton, Ph.D., Professor of Theological Ethics at Duke Divinity School and senior fellow of the Kenan Institute for Ethics.

WACO, Texas (Oct. 5, 2017) – With October being Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Baylor University will welcome IT security leaders from IBM, Verizon, ForcePoint and Splunk for a discussion about “The New Wild West: Cybersecurity in the Age of Pervasive Technology” as part of Baylor’s first Cyber Day on Friday, Oct. 6.
